Okay, it’s been 106 days since my last post on WordPress . . .

and I can attest to the seductive qualities of Facebook that allow me to post in nonsensical, stream-of-conscious bursts of random thought.

Come to think of it, that’s exactly how Sarah Palin communicates.  Maybe I need chelation or shock therapy or narcotic withdrawal treatment.

Anyway, 106 days away from my blog is enough. Especially with all the brand-new nuttiness circulating these days. Correction; it’s not brand-new. It’s the same sort of home-grown racism that the Know-Nothings and Nativists of the pre-Civil War era used to spread, except now it’s outwardly normal folks coming out of left field and saying that the President was born in Kenya, or that his birth certificate is a clever forgery.

And then there’s Sarah Palin’s version of Hitler’s bunker speech, with so many interesting observations that I have to wonder how much mercury is in the Alaskan salmon catch these days. Palin all but said that the U.S. military somehow has sworn a blood oath to defend her right of free speech to the exclusion of her critics’ right to free speech.

I’m surprised she didn’t claim she could see the Russians on the outskirts of Anchorage  as she and Todd concluded a suicide pact.

On the bright side, I’ve taken up kayaking. This has no relevance to the above paragraphs, except maybe that I can go salmon fishing and seal hunting if I ever move north.  And, unlike Obama in the face of scrutiny of his birth certificate, I have pictures:

Mid-life nautical crisis

Mid-life nautical crisis

This should be horrifying enough. And, for M. Eagle and Vicus, I’m planning a late-summer vacation to sink German warships in French ports . . .

  5. Yes, yes, it’s all very well paddling back in here with lame excuses. Some of us have no idea about what has been happening in North America since you last reported. Where do your duties lie?
I would write more, but I have to prepare for the upcoming Michael Jackson concerts.

  6. I flatter myself that I agree with the incisive Senor FFE on most things

…. apart of course on whether Lichfield Cathedral should be bull-dozed to free up a Brown=Field site for Social Housing for Senior Citizens searching for refuge from Hampshire’s rising temperatures with Global Warming

    BUT that is a CANOE

  7. Point taken, Vicus. But please consider this; have you tried sticking a limpet mine to a 15-foot bass fishing boat?

And why are you all reciprocating with a George Michael North America tour?

  8. M. Eagle, that is a kayak, despite what they may call it in ‘Cockleshell Heroes.’

I do believe that I may very well be uglier than Jose Ferrer and Trevor Howard combined.
