The Spirit is weak . . .

I enjoy a good comic book movie as much as the next American male. That said, I have never watched a comic book movie that talks so much and says so little.

‘Sin City’-style cinematography, several fight scenes, a naked Eva Mendes , and Samuel L. Jackson couldn’t even save it.

I damn near spent ny New Year’s Eve passed out in¬†a theater, and I wasn’t even drunk.

‘Howard the Duck’ was better than this.

  1. I couldn’t even like Sin City, in spite of it having Benicio del Toro in it, so I think I’ll pass on this one.

Oh, and the two-parter we discussed today? Phhhhhhhtt.

  2. I saw it last night, a bit disappointing, but worse than “Howard the Duck”?

  3. At least the duck had sex with Lea Thompson, which was more interesting than anything that tried to happen in ‘The Spirit.’

  5. Do you remember how lame “Dick Tracy” was? I’m getting the feeling the corpse won’t die…

  6. Lea Thompson is okay, but as a sex symbol she falls more in the “nerd cheesecake” category. I can’t argue with the casting in the Spirit with Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson, though it didn’t save the movie it didn’t hurt.

  7. Maybe. But Thompson still had sex with a duck.
