More Irish Merriment

Ah, the jocularity inherent in St. Patrick’s Day.

For your enjoyment and broadening of cultural horizons, I humbly present “A Modest Proposal,” by Jonathan Swift.

  1. I remember reading this in my twenties when my children were still very young. I had to go check my babies were still in their beds…..

  2. That reminded me that I am still doing everything imaginable to exacerbate the inconvenient interruptions of my Ménière’s disease..Swift and Darwin are two of it’s most famous sufferers.

The Modest Proposal worked in Canada..les Quebecois bought thousands of leetle Oiresh enfants to try to overtake the British Immigrants…they even got a Prime Minister out of the deal.

Ah yes then there is the infamous line in Blazing Saddles…
“we’ll take the n******s and the c****s, but we don’t want the Irish! Nation.
